The core of the city of Marion is a 2-mile long stretch of shops, restaurants, and performance venues known as the Cultural Corridor, the East/West strip encompasses almost two miles of museums, performances spaces, restaurants, shops, and artisans to create a diversity of experiences that will have you returning again and again.

With a population of over 36,000, the world’s popcorn capital was one of Ohio’s major industrial centers until the 1970’s. The Marion Steam Shovel Company produced products that helped build the Panama Canal. NASA contracted with the Power Shovel company to build the crawler-transports that moved the assembled Saturn V rockets to the launch pad for the Apollo mission.
